Gene Odom - E1: “I’ll Never Forget You”

Lynyrd Skynyrd... whether you are a fan or not, it’s a band you know. With such a short career, the band’s music is still being played today. On this episode, we talk with Mr. Gene Odom and Patricia Walsh. Mr. Gene was on the plane the night that it went down just a few miles from the Outdoor Country Talk studios in October of 1977. We talk about how growing up with Ronnie Van Zant eventually led to being the body guard/security guard for the band. Mr. Gene shares some childhood moments and monumental times from the “Skynyrd days”. This is one episode you don’t want to miss.

Today we are joined by a soon to be frequenting voice on the show, Mr. Keith Beam. While the name may not be familiar with everybody, the products and companies he has been associated with is sure to ring a bell. Keith has hands on developing the first commercial hub style blind. What about NAP (New Archery Products)? Keith was behind innovation of creating new and unique broad heads. Keith is now Director of Product Innovation for GSM Outdoor.
